BORDEAUXCOON CATTERY
Welcome to Bordeauxoon Cattery breeders of Maine Coon Cats. We are Linda and Floyd Wallace and have a small Cattery in St. Charles, MO just west of St. Louis. We obtained our first Maine Coon cat seventeen years ago. He was called Binger and was our loving pet and not a breeding or show cat. Eleven years later we purchased a pedigree Somali that we had no intention of showing, but her breeder talked us into trying to show her. We were then introduced to and benched next to a Maine Coon breeder at our first show. One of her neutered premier Maine Coons jumped from her chair right into Floyd's lap, it was love forever. We purchased Nativecat Chippewa and have been showing cats ever since. We were fortunate enought to obtain our male stud Coondavi Kaine V of Bordeauxcoon and he earned the title of the best Maine Coon in the Midwest Region for 2003/2004 and the 12th Best Cat in the Midwest Region. He also obtained the title of the 2nd Best Color Nationally for Brown Tabby.
We believe that every responsible breeder should have goals and want to improve the breed and their lines. Ethics should be a very big part of breeding; a breeder should live by them and do what is best for the breed. Our goal is to breed and show healthy, sweet wonderful Maine Coon cats. Our breeding cats are tested for HCM.
Our cats are registered in CFA and have winning lines not only in themselves, but in their ancestors as well.
We came up with our Cattery name by combing the breed nickname "Coon" with "Bordeaux" which reflects our interest and love of fine red wines.
